Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home - Cincinnati Obituary

Martha Josephine Davies, née Stefancik, age 97, died peacefully April 15 in Cincinnati after a long illness. Lifelong resident of Cleveland and Parma, she moved to the Marjorie P Lee Retirement Home in Cincinnati in November to be near family. Widow of William R Davies, sister to George Stefancik and Catherine (Bob) Skufca. Loving mother to Gary (Marjorie) of Cincinnati. Survived by devoted niece Barbara Skufca Osler of Sanbornton NH, caring friend Joan Cifani of Parma OH, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and neighbors. A 57-year member of Garfield Trinity Baptist Church in Cleveland and its Women's Society; later a member of St Peter United Church of Christ in Seven Hills Ohio. Martha was a paralegal with the U.S. Department of Labor in Cleveland and in retirement an active member of NARFE. For 17 years she enjoyed bowling with the Chev Vets retiree group. An avid theater-goer to downtown and regional productions, she was also a regular at Severance Hall and Parma Symphony concerts. Martha was an enthusiastic world traveler, visiting all 50 U.S. states and 44 countries. Her greatest joy was traveling with her son and daughter-in-law over the holidays. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Peter United Church of Christ, 125 E. Ridgewood Drive, Seven Hills Ohio 44131; Episcopal Retirement Homes, 3893 Brotherton Rd, Cincinnati OH 45227; or the charity of one's choice. Share online condolences at rohdefuneral.com. Private burial in Cleveland. Friends are invited to join a celebration of her life this summer at St Peter UCC, Saturday, July 11, at 2 PM.
