Martha Leigh Morris Goolsby
Martha Leigh Morris Goolsby passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at a local hospital with her family by her side.
Born on June 20, 1941, in Madison County to the late Rollie and Sarah Morris, she resided in Greenwood, Virginia, where she was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Morris; and her sister, Marie Morris Thacker.
Her survivors, who will cherish her memory, include her husband of 49 years, William Andrew Jackson Goolsby of Greenwood; four sons, William R. Goolsby of Greenwood, Edward Lee Goolsby, David D. Goolsby, and Tracy A. Goolsby and his fiancee, Misty Roberson, all of Afton, Virginia; two daughters, Tamara Goolsby and her husband, Robert P. Layne, of Greenwood, Virginia, Allison Goolsby and her husband, George Harris, of Batesville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Samantha Goolsby, Caitlynn Layne and Justin Goolsby, all of Greenwood, Virginia, Katie Dunnivan of Batesville, Virginia, and Riley Brook Goolsby of Afton, Virginia; two step-grandsons, Josh Roberson of Waynesboro, Virginia, and Jonathan Engleman of Afton, Virginia; brothers, Glen Morris of Madison County, David Morris of Madison County and Charles F. Morris of Glasgow, Virginia.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Anderson Funeral Home in Crozet, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, graveside at Wild Rose Cemetery in Batesville, Virginia. The Reverend David Collyer will be officiating.
Arrangements are in care of Anderson Funeral Service, 5888 Saint George Avenue, Crozet, Virginia.
