Not sure what to say?

Martha (Miss Ebright to me) was my 3rd grade teacher and first crush at Fairfax Elementary School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio in 1951. I would come to school early and wait to greet her when she arrived and one Monday morning she gently showed me her engagement ring and (in my memory at least) she was glowing with happiness. I had tried to locate her numerous times throughout my life but, not knowing her last name after marriage, had no luck.

Did Martha teach at Fairfax Elementary School in Cleveland Heights in the 1950s until she was married? As a student there from 1950 I had a crush on "Miss Ebright" and arrived at school early each morning to greet her when she arrived. She showed me her engagement ring right after receiving it and I had to give up my dream of growing up and marrying her.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of Marty's passing. She always seemed so vibrant and healthy. It's a terrible shock to lose your mother so suddenly. We send our condolences and just want to say that we were privileged to know her.

Last November I made a connection with my Great grandmother, Marty, whenever I went to see her in her beautiful apartment with her cat Miss Kitty. I walked with her to the cafeteria to get lunch and we chatted and she told me that I was very helpful to her. That day she bought me a Sanpellegrino, an Italian soda. I will always charish her in my heart. ❤

Please accept my condolences on your loss. May your memories comfort your heart; and God help your family during this time of sorrow. Isa.41:13

An elegant lady. I hear she was a great teacher, wish I could have had her as a teacher. She always had a smile and a kind word. Fairmount became an important part of her life and her family's life, even if she misspelled Presbyterian. Family was probably the most important thing to her. As a mother she was obviously great, just look at the four children she mothered into wonderful adults.

My deepest condolences to all of you. Marty was deeply loving and deeply loved. I remember her all the way back to Fairmount's kindergarten Sunday School. She always had a smile on her face. May she have a special place in heaven.
