Not sure what to say?

Lovely woman, Friend to all. John A. Howard, Texas

Martha's life was a testamony of grace and graciousness. A good friend, a great colleague who had only kind words for everyone. An aggressive professional with a southern touch. God speed good friend.

I was so fortunate to be one of those people who Martha took interest in. Lewis & Clark was so special to her, and as the new Secretary to the Board in 2004 Martha was intent on meeting me, showering me with advice and encouragement, and most improtantly her friendship. I have never known another person with her gifts for conversation and inclusion. Martha was unique in her ability to guide and inspire. We will all miss Martha. Her understanding and love of life, intelligent humor, and genuine interest and caring for others marked her as special in so many ways. She approached her life with grace and elan, and always brought those qualities generously to the rest of us. Those of us who had the privilege of knowing Martha and working with her will always remember the brightness she brought to us.

Martha was beautiful inside and out. She treated everyone with respect and dignity. Always positive. A wonderful colleague in every way

I never was -- more's the pity, perhaps -- but I loved it that she thought I might be. It was...

With deep respect for the exemplary dignity and love with which Martha lived her life.
