Martha Anne GUSTAVSON

I met Marty the summer of 1968 when we both worked at Sun Lakes State Park. We dated that summer, and exchanged letters afterward as she traveled through Asia. We lost touch, but I never forgot her. She was one of the most remarkable people I've ever known. I recently thought of her and googled her name, and found this obit . I'm glad to read that she had a great life and am sorry to know that she is gone. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.

I wanted to share the information for my Mom´s Celebration of Life Memorial. Please share with others who would like to know about it and please rsvp so that we can be sure to have enough food. Hope to see you there.

Martha, or Mattie as I knew her, was an exceptional woman. Her enthusiasm for the theater was contagious. I knew her briefly during the last five or six years and not very well. However we connected the night we met at a party in the home of a mutual friend, and stayed friends from that time on.
I was deeply impressed with Marty’s sincere love for life, people, and nature, her strong, stubborn independent spirit and her gratitude for all she had that kept her smiling and cheerful even...

Marty was swimming and diving at 74 she was truly an inspiration. And loved by all that knew her. We will see her again in heaven ❤

I always said and believed Marti was the most talented artist I ever met. She and I shared many great memories together..we lived in the same house at Lower Crossing on the river and again in a house in Vinegar Flats..Marti, Virginia and I all met in a La Maze class and had our kids within a month..what a blessing our meeting was and sharing our lives..When I think of Marti I think of her smile and great sense of humor..funny how people never really go away, they have forever become a part of...

I met Martha when we were volunteering for the Spokane Preservation Advocates and later at the Civic, Interplayers, Fox Theatre i.e., we always enjoyed each other company. She was always busy working on the properties she owned. She asked me for advise on several occasions and as a realtor and friend I was happy to give her my input. Virginia and I and maybe many others suggested that she should slow down, but Martha had no intention. She kept on going and always showed up with a big smile at...

I lived near Martha and liveed next door to her good friend Janet Bergdahl. I became friends with her sister, Julie in middle school. I admired Martha as she was always friendly, very creative, and daring or so it seemed to me. I became a bit closer to Martha when Julie and I entered high school. In my junior, year I ran for class treasurer and Martha was my campaign manager. She made paper money with my face on it and hilarious posters. Needless to say I won due to her clever campaign...
