Martha Jane King

I had the privilege of working with Martha King for 23 years at the Albany Police Department. Martha worked our Communications Division and later promoted to Administrative Services Supervisor. Martha was talented, intelligent, hard working and dedicated to her profession. Martha had nearly a 30 year career with our department. I worked alongside Martha first in my capacity as a young officer, later a supervisor, and finally as Chief of Police prior to my retirement. Martha King was one...

I'm so glad I had the chance to meet up with Martha the last time I was in California 4 years ago. It seemed we picked up right where we left off. We had been friends through Junior High, High School, and Fashion Merchandising school. In 1969 when I married, she was one of my bridesmaids. Martha was a person you could always count on to get something done. I will always remember her sense of humor! She will be missed.

Christine & Amy and family: How I adored working with your mom! Martha was simply the best - so good at what she did - and we laughed our work days away. We were often sent to training together and we sure made the most of our training time away from the department. Callers confused us a lot because we had to answer the phone using our last name. I was a chatterbox, your mom not to much. We ordered a pizza one time and we were starving! We ate it and a hour later the manager came by...

Our deepest condolences to Martha´s family and friends. The Hewes were wonderful neighbors and Martha was one of our favorite babysitters growing up. May her memory be a blessing.
