While I was only childhood friends with Janet I have never forgotten the extraordinary kindness, grace and sense of humor and fun of this remarkable woman. I was saddened to hear of her passing and send condolences to the family.

My father met a woman 40 years ago who inspired him to love again and how privileged we all have been to witness their journey rooted in mutual respect, admiration, commitment , kindness, and deep abiding love. Im thankful that I had the honor of knowing Martha and Bob .. she was always loving and made me , Elizabeth and Sarah feel like family. ,

I lived next door to Martha in New Orleans in the early 1960's. We had children the same age and spent many good times there. Nearly the same time in the late 60's we both moved to Gretna. This life long friendship continued as I moved to North Carolina after Katrina and she moved to Christwood. We shared many hours with families and trips. She even hosted my wedding to Andrew Thalheim, MD and our membership in PEO cemented our shared values. No more tributes can expand our connection...
