Not sure what to say?

Just learned about this sad event. Both Martha and Elbert were my mentors during residency and both were the absolute cream of the crop. It is with great sadness that I offer these belated condolences to the Magoon family.

Dear Barbara and Dr. Elbert: I just found this heartbreaking news only today (July, 2021). As we old Jews say at such times, zichrona l'bracha: May dear Martha's memory be for a blessing, to all of us who loved her. In my case, for some 55 years--even before Martha's lifelong, true love, Dr. Elbert, loved her. Beyond that, there simply are no words. With abiding love to Martha's memory and to her family who so loved her, --Doug

Dear Magoons, your family holds a special place in our hearts. You have been in our prayers. Please accept our condolences. May God provide peace, strength, and healing during this unsettling, difficult time.

Martha will always hold a special place in my heart since our days spent together at Camp Miniwanca in Michigan. I so admired her intellect, her leadership skills, her deeply funny sense of humor, and her sense of purpose. Martha was an extraordinary women, even in her youth. I count myself as lucky to have known her and to be able to say she represented her family with dignity and honor. You will be missed, Martha.

Just learned of Martha’s passing during Thanksgiving dinner. What a wonderful woman and physician. On behalf of Sarah and the Sicard Family, condolences to Elbert and the entire Magoon Family. God bless you. - Fausto (Canton, Ohio)

I first knew Martha in Jr High School & then at Glenwood Senior High ....I could NEVER beat her in the 50 yard dash in gym class !!! She seemed to have the perfect life, yet she was never conceited, always kind to others. I never heard a bad word against her . When I found out she was the head of neo-natal at Aultman hospital, I thought "Yes !, perfect !" I did not know her well but admired her a lot. To this day I think of her as always having a smile on her face ...

So sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person.

Our deepest condolences to the Magoon family. You are in our prayers at this time.

I went to Glenwood with Martha and although I was not a part of her “social circle,” I always thought she was one of the nicest “rich” people I ever knew. And also VERY smart. You see, we rode the same bus but I didn’t live in “the village.” No matter. She always seemed to have a smile for everyone. What I read about her in her obituary was exactly what I thought was likely for the life she lived. Accomplished, devoted to family and her community. She had every advantage and fulfilled every...
