Not sure what to say?

Marti was our next door neighbor in Des Plaines when she roomed with Kay and was a flight attendant. Gary and I had just married, so we welcomed the connection with our two neighbors.Marti was growing weary of of flying and queried me about teaching . At the time I was employed by District 214. Our talks inspired her to change direction and pursue teaching. The rest is history. We stayed in touch for many years after both of us moved on. She was a great friend. I miss her smile and her...

Marti was my teacher, my mentor, and later my colleague and friend as well. As the director of Orchesis, she influenced so many lives, including mine and my sister Kristin's. She lived life to the fullest and inspired others to strive for excellence. I will never forget when she came to visit me in Denver. I am deeply saddened that she is not with us anymore, but she certainly accomplished more and touched more lives than most people in her time on this planet. May you rest in peace,...

Martie and I shared many special students in health education for many years. I appreciate her family’s recognition of Buffalo Grove’s finest in her memory. She was truly a beautiful dancer.

Ms. Maxon was my gymnastic teacher at Buffalo Grove HS and Orchesis teacher. She was an amazing coach and person who always pushed you to your abilities, was always understanding and kind.
Great memories! So sorry to hear of her passing. My heart and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Gary and I were neighbors of Martie And Kay in the Trace apartments on Des Plaines when we were first married. That was over 52 years ago when Martie was still a flight attendant. I was partly responsible for encouraging Martie to enter teaching as she was growing disenchanted with flying. We kept in touch for many years sharing stories of our lives and the births of my daughters. Never once did we hear any words other than those of optimism and enthusiasm. She was a dynamo in every phase of...

What a great woman- I have so many fond memories of her classes. She definitely loved what she did! Prayers for her family, she will be missed!

She was a terrific swimming coach to us at BGHS. She expected a lot from her team, inspiring excellence and teaching us the value of hard work. She was one of the many positive female role models I was privileged to encounter at BGHS.

Martie was such a big part of my childhood, along with her sister and brother. I'll never forget how excited we were when she apoeared on a TV game show. I think it was Password. I will always remember her as independent, adventurous and fun. My prayers for her and the whole family.

Marty was indeed a force of nature. Always friendly, always positive, always with a smile. She will be missed by all. Caring, sharing your sorrow. My deepest sympathies.
