Her intense loyalty to women's music and her impact on women's herstory will be her legacy. She kept the social network of the Lesbians in NorthCarolina together before facebook or twitter. Her reach of close friends span the country. Both her life and death brought the women of Asheville together. She will be deeply missed.

In a more desperate time in my life, Martha encouraged me. As a parting gift, along with hope, she provided calming crystals that I kept in my pocket to remind me of her strength and kindness.
Every Christmas her letters made me smile with her adventures or marvel at her endurance. She brought music and humor into the world.
A lover of penguins, Martha now flies. Her song will never end.
