Not sure what to say?

Martha was an institution at Brown; if you needed information on the history of Brown or Brown athletics, she was the one you went to. Many words describe Martha--sincere, bright, knowledgeable, helpful, quietly enthusiastic, motherly, humerous. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Bob, Sarah and Cam;
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I am sure that the love and caring that you gave to her over the years was a great comfort to her.
Your are in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
Judy Walsh

I spent many hours in the Brown University Archives when I was a student.

Martha was regarded by students as an institutional treasure. Her Encyclopedia Brunoniana remains a timeless and essential reference for anyone studying the history of that University.

I was visiting the archives again for the first time in many years, and was deeply saddened by word of her loss.

My condolences to her family and colleagues.

Sorry for your loss

My deepest condolences to the Mitchell family. I hope the many happy memories you have of her will comfort you in the days ahead. Your mom helped out our family back in 1977 when we lost our home. She let us stay in her dad's (Harold Peck) house on Hawthorne Drive, after he passed away. We stayed there until our house was rebuilt, which was about 9 months later. She helped us through an extremely difficult time and we will always be indebted to her for her kindness and generosity. Take care...

Bob, our deepest sympathy goes out to your entire family. We are here for you.

The Mendonca Family

Anne, Jimmy, Bobby and Billy - I haven't seen you since you were babies. Your mom was my first cousin. My memories of her include watching her dance as a young girl, envying her ability to excel in her studies, appreciating her enjoyment of her job at Brown and in our later life swimming with her at the Seekonk Y. The years pass - now I live in Florida and I hadn't seen her in quite a long time. It is with sadness that I hear of her passing. You have my deepest sympathy.

Our deepest condolences to the Mitchell family. She will be sadly missed.

Jimmy, Anne, Bob, Bill and Family, Im sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I have so many fond memories to hold in my heart. Martha was a kind, wonderful and talented women.
