Mrs. Martha Friar Morgan

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Friar Morgan, age 91, of Lilburn, GA, formerly of Eastanollee, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Gwinnett Medical Center. Born September 14, 1926 in Benevolence, GA, she was the daughter of the late George Washingon "Judd" and Mattie Elevia Stowe Friar, and was the widow of John Terrell Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was a self-employed hairdresser for 58 years and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she taught Dorcas Sunday School for 60 plus years. Family members include, her daughter Linda Morgan of Colorado Springs, CO; grandsons and spouses, Chad and Mayte Peck of Avondale Estates, GA, Brian and Tina Tankersley of Toccoa, GA, Todd and Sharon Tankersley of Cave Springs, GA, and Keith and Astrid Marlow of Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter and spouse, Elizabeth and Francis Christian of Augusta, GA; great-grandchildren, Victoria Peck, Kari Tankersley, Chelsea Tankersley, Chloe Tankersley, Dalton Tankersley, Megan Tankersley, Linda Marlow, and Selena Marlow; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Janis Morgan Bucek. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Thursday, July 5, 2018 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Roddy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Flowers are optional.
