Martha Nell Urrey Mulligan, 90, of Camden AR passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at Ouachita County Medical Center. She was born February 18, 1931 in Hope, AR to Irving Thomas Urrey and Emma Belle Boyce Urrey. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Nell attended school in Hope, AR till her junior year when her family moved to Camden where she graduated from Camden High School in 1949 and married the love of her life, Bill. Together they worked hard to raise their four children to be Christian adults.
Nell graduated from Southern State University of Magnolia. She retired from International Paper Company with Woodlands and the Paper Mill for 37 years. She and her husband continued the family business that started in 1947, Urrey Motors Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge Dealership.
Some of her activities through the years included being a Charter Member and past Chapter Regent of Tate’s Bluff Chapter, DAR, Chapter BX, P.E.O., New Century Club and past/present member of the Camden Jaycees.
Nell was very family oriented, she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. To Mommy Nell each and every one was her favorite.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Haywood Mulligan, Jr.; her sister, Doris Gibson; half sister, Gerlene Walen; and brother, Dr. Thomas Urrey.
She is survived by her sons, William David Mulligan (Cathy) of Sheridan, AR; Samuel Urrey Mulligan (Mary Elizabeth) of Camden, AR; daughters, Nancy Mulligan Johnson (Tim) of Fairview, TX and Becky Mulligan Ives (Dan) of Camden, AR; grandchildren, Holly (Brandon) Pollet, Will Mulligan, Jonathan Mulligan, Josh Mulligan, Amanda Mulligan, Tyler (Ashley) Johnson, Jennifer (Will) Payne, Mary Nell (Michael) McBryde and David Ives; and great grandchildren, Piper and Berkley Pollet, Cash Mulligan, Greer, Griff and Gage Johnson, Sloan Payne, Welles and Whitman McBryde; and sister, Clara Urrey Freeland.
A graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Camden, AR. Brother Gentry Hill will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 348 W. Washington St., Camden, AR. Proctor Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
