Not sure what to say?

As I sit here at our kitchen table in Fortlands Charleville Co.Cork Ireland that I write these few words about Sister Martha Joseph Rooney o.s.f. It is with great sadness and deep regret that we learned of your passing from your niece Mary Esther. It brings an end to a life long association with this house and the Barry family especially our aunt May. Your visits with your sister Nellie were always looked forward to. Even after the death of our aunt May you kept contact with us. We will miss...

We knew Sr. Martha when she came home to Charleville, Co.Cork Ireland on holidays to visit her sister Mrs. N. Garvey, and brother John in New Line. during the Summer months they took long walks together. They were very united family. She was a gentle lady. May they all be united in Heaven now.Rest in Peace.Margaret and Bernie Biggane, Charleville. Ireland

Sr. Martha Joseph is forever in my heart. She provided me with steadfast support and guidance during and after my years at St. Joseph Hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with the sisters at St. Ann's.

Sr. Martha Joseph was the first Sister I met at St. Joseph. Her memory is sweet to me, as was her support. Prayers for her and all the Sisters! with love, Kathy Olson SJMC since 1974

I was fortunate to be a member of the St Joseph Hospital, School of Nursing, 1962-1968 With Sister Martha providing all of us with her wisdom, guidance, Her wonderful laugh and most of all her friendship. I will miss her.

As a new instructor at St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Sr. Martha was my mentor and she has remained a mentor and good friend all of my nursing career. She will be sorely missed. God Bless!

Sister Martha was a dear friend of my mothers, Helen Gallagher Frederick. She was a part of my life from a very young age. She was a wonderful woman, and she will be missed!!

The words, love, caring, kindness yet disaplaned and straight forward are my memories of Sister Martha Joseph. I pray she will live on mission of St. Joseph Hospital
