Ms. Martha Ann Williams, a native of Chunchula, AL., born August 13, 1939, along with her twin sister, Mary Ann Jones. She departed this life March 21, 2020. She was a 1957 graduate of Rosa A. Lott High School in Citronelle, AL. Her secondary training included a B.S. Degree and M.S. Degree from Alabama State University. She was a dynamic educator in the Mobile County Public School System for thirty-eight years. Moreover, today her name still rings in the halls and walls of Vigor High School in Prichard, AL. She is preceded in death by her biological mother, Bonnie L. Lewis, maternal and paternal grandparents, Milton and Hannah Williams, who reared her along with her twin sister, that also includes two deceased sisters and three deceased brothers. She is survived by a father, Milton and Mary L. Williams, 4 sisters, (devoted) twin sister-Mary Ann Jones, 6 brothers, 2 brothers-in-law, one aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and a host of associates, 2 very dear friends, Rev. and Mrs. Richard Benjamin and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Rogers'. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Reese Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour. Rev. Clendell Jones, Sr. Officiating Minister. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Garden Cemetery, D.I.P. Arrangements are entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home.

She had the most school spirit of anyone in the whole school! She took her job seriously and truly cared about every student.

First day of school :
You better get your summer school shoes ready because you will not be passing my class.

And she was serious.

You went into that classroom to learn or else!
Many complained but it was one of the few classes I had where I felt like I was learning, something was happening, there was structure, etc...

You respected her, her classroom, and your classmates or you found yourself outside in the hall or waiting to talk to the...

... and her light shall so continue to shine in the world and in the heart of those whom she so inspired and touched with the torch of wisdom and knowledge.

Then shall her voice continue to ring in the halls and walls of C.F. Vigor High School (Prichard, AL), and in the hearts and ears of those who would cherish the passion of faith and hope to inspire generations to ignite their own fire with the flames that went forth like the roaring of many waters.

So then I say to you our...

She was a lovely person and wonderful role model. I had the pleasure of being her student and I loved going to her class. This world has truly lost an angel.

I remember when my son passed away she raised money for his funeral and she came to his funeral

Ms. Williams taught me my junior year at Vigor. She was always an inspiration and she cared dearly about the students. She loved VHS and was respected by all. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Miss Williams was a great teacher and friend she was firm and wanted the best for her students she would listen to you advise you if you needed she name my only daughter and that really meant a lot to me and my husband we could talk to her about anything she will truly be missed. Class of 84.
