Marty was a mentor to me when I first started in Engineering at Bailey Controls and later at Allen-Bradley. During that time we moved from that relationship to that of friends. Marty had that unique ability to be joking one moment and get into some very important matter in the same conversations. His pauses in conversations was another trademark.
