My sympathy to the Buth family. I interviewed Mr. Buth several years ago while doing a documentary on the big tornado of 1956. He told the story of rushing to Comstock Park from downtown Grand Rapids to find his home destroyed and spent some anxious moments searching for his family who had survived the storm, but left the house before he arrived. Just learned of Martin Buth passing away. I always enjoyed talking to him when I worked at HH.A man who definitely had a good life!

Mr. Buth was my driving teacher at Comstock Park High. I will always remember him as a very kind person. And believe me when you were done with his class you knew how to drive.

Blessings, thoughts and prayers to the Buth family. It was an honor to have known State Representative Buth and members of the family that I had the opportunity to meet at MSU men's basketball games several years ago. I have cherished the letter that he wrote to me as the oldest living Spartan from the MSU basketball team. He was such a sweet and endearing spirit. God rest his soul.

All weekend I have been trying to think of something to write to share my experiences with this great man. I knew Martin for only a short time in his later years. I had the awesome pleasure of knowing him when he lived at HH. I worked in the office and did transportations taking residents to and from appointments.
