Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to hear of Martin's passing. I was a proud member of Martin's racing team, Byrd's Auto Racing. Martin enjoyed life and we shared our enjoyment of driving, working on, modifying, and building street and race cars. One evening, Martin drove me back from a Fiat club meet. We crossed the San Mateo Bridge at 130 plus in his Datsun 2000 roadster. What a thrill being a passenger of Martin's. With the top down on that chilly night, Martin was in his element. I will also remember...

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Martin. I attended the Redding Adventist Academy & Shasta College with Martin. He was kind, smart,& fun to be around. I extend my deepest sympathy & prayers to his family.

So sorry to here about Martin passing. I was in some of Martin's classes at Shasta College. Always at the top of the each class.

I am so sorry to hear about Martin. God keep and bless you all.

I also, like my sister Vera, have fond memories of the Byrd family. I especially remember long ago when my little sister Rana had to go to Childrens Hospital in Oakland, we always had to get our gas at Martin's station just so we could see and visit for just a moment with Martin Jr. It has been 34 year's since Rana died and we no longer went to Oakland but I have never forgot our visit's with him. My sympathy & love goes out to all his family through this very difficult time.

I have many fond memories of growing up around the Byrd family. So sorry for your loss and may God be with you all at this time. Love, Vera (Pickens) Carson
