MARTIN COHEN Obituary

COHEN--Martin A.,

of Westport, CT and New York, NY died peacefully on May 23rd, 2018. Born in Monticello, NY on August 4th, 1934, he was a true renaissance man, visionary, and pioneer. As an advocate for social justice, he began his career as a political and crime reporter. He later founded three companies including Marcon Communications, which he took public in 1969, and Marcon Capital, an SBIC. Martin lived life on his own terms, owning racehorses, producing movies, playing poker and backgammon, traveling the world with his wife, and avidly staying abreast of the news. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Annette, his children, Brad, Dana, Allison and their spouses. He had eight loving grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Christopher, Rebecca, Michael, Elizabeth, Kyle and Niki. Services will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel on May 29th at 11:30am. Donations can be sent to the Geriatric Wright Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
