Not sure what to say?

Lots of fond memories about Marty, here's just one of many: Marty was so proud of the home he & his dad built, not in a boastful way, just pleased that he & his dad built it ... together. He asked us to visit, so we went & he welcomed us & shared some of the stories that were involved this process of creating his home with his dad. We spent so many great times together during summers at the lake. Always it was clear, he was one of the truly good ones, not just another guy, he had that...

It´s hard to pick one memorable moment of Marty when there were countless. I was privileged to have Marty as a remarkable brother in law for 27 years. Marty had a love for life that poured onto others. He had a true gift for making peoples lives better by living in the moment and being joyful. I admire the work he did helping others less fortunate and in need. Our boys looked up to him as Uncle Marty was known to drop everything to spend time with them. Amy

Being a classmate of Marty, my memories of him are from those early years. Marty was funny, kind, full of life and playfully mischievous. I spent time with him at church, his house and we went to Little Galilee together. He loved his family and friends. Like his Dad, Big John, he was warm, genuine and caring. He was a great person! Prayers and condolences to Marsha and little John!

So very sorry to hear this sad news. We new Marty from church plus through our kids. He was such a fun personality to be around. He always went out of his way to stop and talk with us wherever we saw him. Plus saw him often at the U of I when they crossed paths with their jobs. Blessings to the family. Ross and Cinda Collins.

Marty was one of the most generous and caring people I ever met, a true friend in every sense of the word. His presence will be missed beyond explanation. My heart goes out to his kids, and family.

We have many joyful memories of what a wonderful person Marty was. He´ll always hold a special place in our hearts. Prayers for peace and comfort for all of his family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

I can attest that Marty´s heart was as big as they come He loved people and life - and those that met him, got to be around him, he made us better people I was truly blessed by that guy - he made a difference in me

Marty was a blessing to our family for many years. He brought love & laughter with him wherever he went. He is forever part of our heart. He will be sincerely & deeply missed by us all. Until we meet again on those blessed golden streets... we shall do our best to be at least half as kind & strong as you were. God has gained one amazing Angel. Kim & Ryan Phoebe & Trent
