Martin Dvorin

I’m not sure why I thought of Marty this morning, but I did, and a Google search found his obituary. I worked with Marty at Bausch and Lomb in the 1960’s. I was a young “beginner” in the optical field. We were colleagues in every sense of the word. We attended the U of R Institute of Optics together, and collaborated on projects at B&L. I found Marty to be a good friend and inspirational colleague. I am saddened to hear of his passing, and trust that his descendants have found peace with it....

Marty will be missed by many including me. He was very large part of my finding and having an fantastic career in Optical Engineering Science. I'm sure many of his students from his MCC days feel the same way. I came full circle through the Optics Program that Marty started @ SUNY MCC and upon retirement after 40 years in the business of Optics I returned to teach Optical Engineering Technology Courses at MCC.

He will be missed. I always enjoyed talking with him at Shabbat services at B'nai Israel.
