Dear Elgison Family: I met Marty at the University of Miami law school in 1978 where we were in the same section and became fast friends. In our second year, Marty coaxed me, to a certain degree, to take a course in Admiralty law and another class in Maritime law and I thought for sure that this was the area in the law that he intended on making into a career. (I can only guess that he found intellectual property to be a lot more stimulating!) What really solidified our friendship though was...

I will always remember how kind Marty was to me, his quick wit and his intelligence. We will miss him.
