Not sure what to say?

I "met" Martin in 1987 as a wrong number in Dallas, TX. We developed a weird friendship that lasted over 5 years. It was 100 % telephone calls and occasionally he would send me a letter and vice versa. I still have the Olympic Friendship Medallion of the 1984 Olympic Games that he sent me with the message: To my Special Friend, Janis and he signed it. We talked laughingly about his idea for "Smella-Vision" He always made me laugh and then we lost track of each other. I was thinking...

Officially Explorers in a troop that never really took off, our meetings became mostly an excuse to shoot the breeze, discuss our weird ideas, and go out for ice cream where we terrorized the serving wenches, er, waitresses.

Fair thee well, Martin. Life is better for having had you in it.

Nice guy - he slept on my couch one summer in Houston when we were both going to Rice. This is such sad news.

I remember Martin and the Erdoes family with great fondness. My condolences.

Martin was, funny, smart and outgoing, always fun to be around, and that was as a kid at Millwood! He came to my 7th grade Halloween party and I still have the picture. Then I remember running across Martin years later at Leslie's Painted Desert and having a drink with him. Still the fun guy I remembered. RIP, Martin.

Martin, tomorrow I will find a person holding said sign and donate some food to them in your honor. I will remember your brilliance when we were in school at Northwest. I especially remember how you popped into the 7:30 Calculus class with high energy while I was struggling to awaken. I am saddened that your life ended too soon. Condolences to the Erdoes family.
