It is difficult to think about my growing years and not have thoughts about Martin. Whenever I visited Tom over the years Martin would always greet me and ask about my parents or what I had been doing lately. I don't think anyone that visited the Francis home was allowed to leave without learning something they didn't know about the American flag. I can remember Martin working at great length building his flag display and his never ending excitement in sharing it with others. His love of July...

Martin and Ione- were model neighbors.Their house was always open to all of us kid in the neighborhood. I lived near them in the 60's and early 70's. Tommy and Linda were part of our crazy Greek family. I remember Martin was always ready to share with us his latest project and educate us on the history of the country he loved.
