Read MoreDear Mary, we were very sorry to learn of Martin's passing. He was a kind and gentle man, and the best neighbor any dog (or human) could ever have. We still talk about how dear Martin would always clear a path in our backyard for Lola when it snowed, and slip her treats when we weren't looking.

My condolences to the Haas family. Martin was a special man and friend. I worked at Farm Bureau for many years and always looked forward to talking to him when he stopped in. He will be missed.
