I first met Martin when he was serving as Environmental chief for Vt. in early 1970's. He was committed to environment and helped construct some of Vermont's sweeping environmental legislation.

Dear Laura and family, I was sorry to hear of Martin's passing. It has been so many years since I've been touch with your family, working as babysitter for all the kids on your beautiful property in Marshfield. I believe the farm must have been Martin's favorite place to return to after he traveled throughout the country and shared himself and his gifts with so many people and organizations. The environment has lost a true friend. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.

Laura and Family,
Martin will be sorely missed. He was truly "a gentleman and a scholar", but mostly a friend. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
