Martin L. Kaplan

As an adjunct instructor at Clackamas Community College in the Chemistry Tutorial Lab/Help Center, I often saw Martin. He was always dependable in being on time for the "shift change" of instructors in this laboratory. Martin was a great role model for us younger staff in the Department. I was unaware of his rich career history, however, and can appreciate now the variety of experiences that he brought to the students. We met Marty nearly 60 years ago. We all joined the Peace Corps which had a profound effect on all of us. Marty was an outstanding colleague and a great friend and we will miss him dearly.

With many wonderful memories, I express my sorrow.

I first met Martin as he worked on the first exhibit in the International Firehouse. For the next 20 years we spent a lot of time working to turn the dream of a museum of the Peace Corps experience into reality. I hope to continue that effort. I will dearly miss Martin in so many ways.
