What a beautiful and sad thing to read. Tybee ,Savannah and your family lost a great human being. I will always recall his smile, kindness and great dignity -I recall thinking when i was a kid those incredible summers at Tybee, that your Dad possibly one of the smartest men on the planet. He made that impact on many, I am sure. So sorry for your family's loss- the "greats" are going and a small solace is that it was a privilege to have grown up around them. May his memory be for a blessing...

Mr. Karp was a sensible, intelligent, and affable man whose influence can most visibly be seen in the character and achievements of his children, Karen, Jonathan, and Peter. In our several conversations spread over many years, I was struck by his warmth, ability to call forth small details about myself and others, and knowing sense of humor. Savannah and the rest of us have lost a true gentleman.

My condolences to those who were close to Mr. Karp. He was a good man who was good to my family. I will always remember watching the St. Patrick's Day parade from his office as a child.
