Not sure what to say?

Nancy, so very sorry for your loss I don't know what happened to my original message. They messed it up. Marty and his roomie Rick Smith at Nichols taught my roomie and I how to play bridge and I have enjoyed the game all my life ever since. Marty was always with the smile and the laugh, he will be missed. I did call his roommate.

Me in Norway 5 years ago.

Nancy, so sorry for your loss. M

The friendship between Marty and I began in Kindergarten in Washington School. We were such a 'good' combination that they put on our permanent school records that we should never be in the same class again. From that time until now Marty lived his life for others. He could not stand to see anyone in pain, and reached out to offer friendship and help to anyone in need. He was the Good Samaritan personified. Gram, dad, A. Marjorie, Nancy and all those that loved him, he was a great son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather. He was kind and intelligent and was quite funny back in the days when he drank. I guess he was kind of funny sober too. Our world is darker without his light. I love you all and am thinking of each of you in this time of sorrow.

Bill - I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Love,
Aunt Harriett

I have very fond memories of Lauer's Market on Cross Street. You were a most kind family and we did most of our business with you. I remember Marty - he was a little older than me. I am sorry for your loss and to hear that Marty had to struggle with the evil "C". My thoughts are prayers are with you all. Mary Jane Dyson Disco

So sad to hear of Marty's passing. I played cards with Marty in HS and college while living in Longmeadow. Loved him...great, witty personality and very smart and an excellent card player. Also, with other friends, like Doug Robb, he was a good beer drinking buddy. I moved to Florida in 1981 and have a home in Arcadia as we speak and if I had known Marty was just 30 minutes away in Port Charlotte i would have made a point to find him. I also still play bridge. (Marty was always better than I...

Sad to see Marty has left us. He was a tremendous news reporter and had a great sense of humor. He is missed.
