Not sure what to say?

Jane, Martin, Kate & Michael, so sorry that we can't be with you in Ann Arbor. Our thoughts and prayers are there though, and we look forward to remembering Marty on Beaver Island. Thank you for sharing Marty with our family. Roger, Holly, Tim, TJ, Katie, Paul, Anna & Elizabeth

Marty with Tim Urdan.

Jane and Family: you may recall that I worked with Marty (and Carole Ames) in 1987/88. My wife Christi and I enjoyed getting to know your family a little. Marty helped me get started in the academic career. I remember his talking about Beaver Island, which I have yet to visit. He was a wonderful colleague and fun to listen to when he talked about his adventures in travel and in academia. Condolences from David and Christi.

The whole New Horizons String group sends its best wishes.

Dear Jane and Family, my deepest sympathy in Marty's passing. He was always a joy to work with in CPEP.
May he rest in peace.
Marie Bien

I'll write to you Jane, but a quick note to say what sad news this is. Marty (and you) was so kind and encouraging to me over many years. He was a wonderful man.

How very sad to learn of Marty's passing. He was always such a gentleman with a smile on his face and seemingly joy in his heart. He will be missed by all who met him.

Our sincere sympathy to you and your entire family, Jane. We care.
Love, Ken and Ann

Dear Jane and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Marty's passing today. He was a model for many of us in CPEP of how one could be a caring and heart-centered academic. Whenever I am working with a student who needs gentle support I visualize Marty's smile and listen to his kind voice for guidance. Thank you for sharing Marty with rest of the world. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
