Not sure what to say?

My wife and I have had the privilege to call Martin Moore, and until her death his late wife Mayo, our friends for the twelve years we have lived as neighbors on Davis Lane. Martin and Mayo will be missed by those of us who had the good fortune to know them.

For as long as I can remember, Cousin Martin has been a presence in my life, beginning with visits to Uncle Martin and Aunt Eva at their house on Davis Lane. (My maternal grandfather and Martin's mother were brother and sister.) Martin and Mayo were very kind to me when I moved permanently to Pittsburgh in 1990, inviting me to dinner and generally keeping in touch, and Martin and I had a number of happy lunches at his HYP Club, where we agonized over the fortunes of the Pittsburgh Pirates....

Most of my memories of Cousin Martin are when I spent time with Aunt Eva and Uncle Martin at their house as a little boy. I wasn't lucky enough to spend much time in Sewickley after my grandfather died. I do remember well, though, his and Mayo's kindness when my sister and I came to bury our mother in Sewickley. My conolences to all.

I WAS EMPLOYED BY MR. MOORE FOR ABOUT A YEAR.ALTHOUGH, I DID NOT GET TO KNOW HIM THAT WELL,HE SEEMED LIKE A VERY INTERESTING MAN.HE WAS QUITE REMARKABLE FOR HIS AGE!NEVER QUITTING THE THINGS HE LOVED IN LIFE.I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM SAWING TREE LIMBS IN THE COLD FALL AND WINTER!!! HE EVEN TAUGHT ME A FEW THINGS IN THE KITCHEN!I HAVE TRIED TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH CHRISTY AND WILL CONTINUE.MAY YOU HAVE PEACE IN KNOWING THAT YOUR PARENTS ARE FINALLY TOGETHER AGAIN.I REMEMBER HOW MR. MOORE WOULD...

Uncle Martin was one of my father's best friends. We Willard children appreciated his quiet demeanor and smiling face when we saw him at our house in Sewickley or in August at Ahmic Lake. He sang all our old family songs with us.

Granddad led a very full life and we'll miss him greatly. My fondest wish is that in death he is reunited with Mimi (Mayo), who he loved so dearly.

I have many memories of Uncle Martin at our house in Sewickley and at Ahmic Lake.I remember one summer diving off the dock and swimming to the nearby island. We often did this. Uncle Martin was shocked at our adventuressness!!

Uncle Martin was a close family friend and frequent visitor to our house, both in Sewickley and at Ahmic Lake.
