I played quartets at Marty´s place in New York for years. He had a closet packed with music and we would read Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, even Shostakovich...and just had a wonderful time. He and Marilyn were always gracious hosts, and we would finish each afternoon of music making with cheese, fruit, and a nice glass of wine. It was always a joy. He will be missed by so many. Marty had a huge influence on me as a supervisor and dear friend. I heard him play his violin many times and it gave him so much joy. My sincere condolences to Marjorie and Eric. I shall miss him. Jane hall
