Not sure what to say?

Mr. Reisner, "You gotta name you gotta a numbah ." I can still here those words in the locker room at John Wallace Middle School in Newington. What a guy!!!!!! Here we are some 12 years after his passing and by chance I came across the last name Reisner and Mr. to me is what comes to mind since he was in my life during 6th-8th grades. Mr. Reisner Rest In Peace and I second the motion that one pillar of Newington Richard Klett said about "Marty" in his comments back in 2009 when he passed. ...

Mr. Reisner was from my first experience with him as gym teacher in elementary school, firm and fair. He never hesitated to tell me when I did wrong (I did do a lot of that) and was always encouraging to do better. I thank God for Mr. Reisner's infulence in my life. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

He was a mountain of man, with a heart of equal proportion.

Marty was one of the first teachers to befriend me on my first year of teaching back in 1968 in the old NHS, now the Police Station. Our mutual interest was not curriculum, education, administration, sports, but fishing! An interest that lasted 40+ years. Tina and I have had the fortunate opportunity of becoming part of Reisner family for many years. We will miss Marty, his gruffness, his grouchiness, but most of all his sincere friendship, without question.

Coach Reisner was a special man to me as a member of some very good basketball teams at NHS. He was demanding, but fair; exacting , but fun. Deep down I knew he cared for every one on the team, always wanting the best for all of us. He also was a tremendous role model as a family man, caring deeply for his wife Sug, and, as the family grew, inviting us to be a part of his family. He was a presence in my life, and, I am fortunate to have experienced his guidance and direction. My deepest...

My first remembrance of Marty was when I was a third or fourth grader and Marty was our gym teacher. He was a hulk of a man and could be a little gruff at times and had a loud booming voice. Over the years as our gym teacher he encouraged me to be the best I could be. He was a tough taskmaster but I know that I could never have acheived the success I did in college without Marty's tutelage throughout my formative years. Sug and Marty were a wonderful couple, very generous with their time and...

I first remember Mr. Reisner as my P.E. teacher at Southeast School in the mid-late '50's. Didn't realize 'til now those were his first years teaching. He seemed larger than life to me as a 4th-6th grader. Years later, I played baseball for Newington High School and he was the coach. Great memories. I ended up majoring in PE in college thanks in part to his influence. My deepest condolences, and may God bless your whole family during this sad time

I was a gym student of Mr. Reisner's in the mid-70's at NHS and although I never had the pleasure of having him as a basketball coach, he got me into competitive badminton. I think I signed up for two or three quarters of badminton per year for gym with him and the holy grail was to beat Mr. Reisner in singles. I don't think anyone every did, but I remember coming awfully close one time. The compliment Mr. Reisner gave me after the match really made my day.

My deepest sympathies to...

I am so sorry to here about Coach (Marty) although I know the past few years have been tough. I can't say enough about those years when I played for him during school and summer. I feel proud to have been a part of one of the CVC championships he gave to the school. To Marty it was more than just game as he and wife, Sug, did a lot for his players. I especially remember him in the later hours of a Friday evening and possibly the early hours of Saturday morning when I went to the emergency...
