Not sure what to say?

I am sitting here reading everything about Uncle Martin and smiling through my tears. Although we lived a distance away, it was always great how he would chat with me and truly be interested in what was going on with me and my world. So many fantastic ways, Uncle Martin, you added to the world and the people around you. Thank you for being a part of my life Uncle Martin! Debbie, Nomi and families, my deepest sympathy and condolences. May our memories and experiences with Uncle Martin...

Speech by Paul Lieberman
MARTIN SCHWARTZ
He was the cigar-maker’s son who forgot nothing and collected everything. “I get interested,” he said, “in just about everything I touch.” At 83, driving along the New Jersey Turnpike, he noticed the Molly Pitcher Rest Stop and wondered, “Who was she again?” and so he called one of his daughters to search the Internet and soon there was another file, “Molly Pitcher,” among the countless he kept. Our whole family would like to thank you all for being here to honor our father. Some of you came from great distances and we appreciate your efforts and your caring…That’s also true for those of you who are nearby.

[From Funeral service for Martin Schwartz, 5/11/10 - Son-in-law Ben Freed]

I have always admired my father in law Martin. I admired his special ability to bring joy to every activity.

He was a sculptor: He took a broken outboard motor, turned it upside down and it became a work of art.

He was a builder: of monkey bars, sheds, rafts, chess sets and swing sets

What joy, tears, pain, delicious memories, sadness, fullness, loss and gratitude for being able to share all of you via this machine...Ellen

Marty was a leader who never shrank from adventure. Witness his service as admiral of the Pipes cove fleet and his magnificent tribute to Maxwell Anderson.
I recall his willingness to join me in ad adventure in 1972. We were taking a walk in Tibbetts Brook Park and discussing the recent defeat of George McGovern at the Hand of Richard Nixon when we came upon a spring of falling water, at the bottom of which were a shopping cart and other debris. ...

We all know that Mart died two days ago.
What we don’t know is whether this will interfere in any way with Mart’s lecture schedule.

Mart was my first employer….he hired me to mow his lawn.

Our families were extremely close. Mart was our second father and Nomi and Debbie were and always will be our sisters.

We went on vacations together and Mart and my father presided at all of our important holidays and family events, like the...

Hi Rapaport Family, Saw the obit in the Times...sent to my husband and then saw one can click on this guest book... had no idea (I am a dinosaur) that this rite of end of life has a cyberspace counterpart link. Condolences have been sent via snail mail but know that our sympathy is heartfelt What I loved is that I have a way of learning who this wonderful ancestor was...knowing grand daughter Beth, I am not surprised. Hugs to all..
