Not sure what to say?

He was a father, a grandfather and a husband. He was a teacher, an artist and a friend. But for me, he will always be . . . Uncle Marty. And Uncle Marty was one of kind! Anyone fortunate enough to walk a few miles next to Marty, walked on smarter and more thoughtful. No matter the topic; be it art, sculpting, photography, landscaping, Marty looked at the world with the keen eye of a true artist and teacher. His commentary on work, life and the world was always insightful and...

One of my favorite teachers. I'll always remember a room full of cows, jolly rancher lollipops and cowtail candy. RIP Mr. Silverman

Mr. Silverman was an amazing teacher. He was so kind and understanding, he had such patience with us crazy middle school kids. He was funny, smart and very kind. He will truly be missed as one of the best educators I have had. Rest In Peace Mr. Silverman.

Truly a beautiful soul one of the nicest people I have met in my life and I am so sad that he’s gone, I will always cherish our talks, Rest In Peace

My mother and I both had the pleasure of having this man as our art teacher. He was truly an amazing, fun, and inspiring person! I will never forget him and his love for art. Rest in peace Mr. Silverman, you were the best!

I remember how nervous I was when I was hired for my very first teaching position at the Carol Goetz Middle School. Marty was always so helpful and supportive. He was a talented artist and a great man. His classroom was connected right behind mine and I remember feeling so much better that he was right there if I stumbled or needed to ask him a question. I haven’t seen Marty in a long time and learning of his passing made me very sad. I pray his family is comforted during this difficult time....

This is the message I sent to Marty on Sunday but he probably never read it.
“The message you left was beautiful. You mean the same to me my show brother. I took Marie for a stroller ride yesterday and told her all about you, she is nine months old now and this is what I told her:
How kind you are,
How caring you are,
How much you loved Rita,
What a gentle man you are,
And how thoughtful you are!
Everyone needs a Marty in their life.
I love you and...

One of the kindest educators I've ever had the pleasure of being taught by. Rest in paradise Mr. Silverman.

One of the nicest humans I've had the pleasure to work with as a new teacher. He was quick to share his knowledge and supplies and ideas. You will be remembered forever.
