I only knew Marty for a short but intense time as we trekked to Everest Base Camp last year. Along with Steve I felt that I had found a life long friend as evidenced by some planning for future possible treks and my planned visit in Christchurch later this year. Condolences to you all. We so enjoyed our time spent with you both on the Otago Rail Trail and often recalled Marty doing it in half the time on a regular bike!
