Marty was one of thirteen Jewish classmates in the West Point Class of 1956. It was a great pleasure knowing him.

Paul and I are deeply saddened by Marty's passing. We were so fortunate to have known him for many years and to spend our winter vacations together in Captiva. Marty was always kind, thoughtful, optimistic and took the time to share stories and ask questions. We loved his friendly smile, jokes and wise bits of advice. Marty was someone I feel so blessed to have known. He was always a warm presence at Captiva. It didn't matter that a year had gone by since our last visit, it always felt comfortable, familiar and easy to be around him. He had a way of making me smile and feel good about myself. I remember so many times when he told me I was smart, special, beautiful and other words of praise. The way he said it, I believed him! It saddens me so much that he was taken from us.
