Marty Christopher Smith, 62, of Malvern, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born to the late George Miller and Florece (Greene) Smith in Malvern, Arkansas on July 7, 1960.
He graduated from the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1980, where he had attended from early childhood to his Senior High School year. He excelled at the school in football, basketball, and track where he was well loved and renowned.
After graduation, he worked for Stroud Restoration in North Little Rock for many years. He later worked for Walmart in North Little Rock and Malvern, as well as Longmeadow Nursing Home in Malvern. He also worked for many years detailing vehicles as a passion.
Marty was well loved and respected. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Arkansas Razorbacks, and the Malvern Leopards. He loved dogs, fishing, gardening, flower beds and doing yard work. He was someone who had a passion for loving and helping others. For that he is to be commended.

He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents; sisters, Sandra Kay and Cynthia Ann; and brother, Victor Lynn.
Marty leaves to cherish his loving memories his companion, Charlene Wright, whom he loved dearly; her children, grandchildren, and siblings; his sons, Marvin Christopher Smith and Kejaun Bates both of Hot Springs, Arkansas; his daughter, Portia (Byron) Hawkins of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Rev. Rex Miller Smith, Sr. (Barbara), Bart Smith (Avon), Malcolm Smith (Laurie) and Eric Smith (Tameka) all of Malvern; two grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
His Home Going Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 A. M., on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Malvern. A visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 5:00 - 7:00 P. M. His earthly body will be laid to rest in Toones Chapel Cemetery in Tulip, Arkansas.
