Not sure what to say?

Marv was a wonderful and thoughtful teacher, a master of the pun, a man of wit, a lover of literature, and a truly kind human being. He was an inspiration to both of us when we joined the SRJC faculty as shiny new teachers. He will be deeply missed.

How fortunate I am to have known and learned from Marv these past forty-plus years. The thoughtful tributes to him from his friends, colleagues and students speak to the impact he had on all of us who were privileged to walk beside this brilliant, funny, gentle man.

Marvin was THE GREATER GOOD that life occasionally affords us. He was a kind person and a brilliant colleague. I admired his hesitancy towards absolutes. jim rosen, Astoria, NY

Marv had a unique way of sharing beauty with all who knew him. I'll always remember my first trip to Venice with a group including Marv , Helen and Sarah Gill.
Marv told me to close my eyes, no peeking, then held my hand and led me down the corridor into the center of San Marco Square.” Now open your eyes and look up” he said. I will always remember the joy that beauty brought to his face and his pleasure in sharing it with someone else.

Marvin was a wonderful human being, and an inspired teacher of literature, a very challenging act to follow for all of us who came after him into the classroom. Ida and Kosta

Marv was a wonderful friend and raconteur. His enthusiasms were infectious; his bouillabaise was sublime. I'll miss him. My thoughts are with Helen.
