There was not another one like him, and I was glad to have made his acquaintance. Mickie and Shoe were frequent visitors to St. John's Opportunity Shop, where I worked as a volunteer. They were such a cute couple! I have fond memories of both wonderful people.

Marvin was a good friend. I stopped by to see him again only to find him not in his room. ... My favorite of his stories was that of his early, navy recruit time. Despite his immediate supervisor being on his case, walking toward his barracks, the base Commandant´s car came up beside him, asked if he may be interested in playing baseball, and then gave him a short ride. So why the question? The Navy base was to play a baseball professional stacked Army base across the Potomac-a real bomb...

Single Memorial Tree

Marvin was my next-door neighbor for many years. I miss the old days of hearing him sing at his kitchen sink while his dog Daiquiri slept on his side porch. Marvin always let me know when he spotted the need for some home repair--things I probably would have never noticed until they caused a problem. Such a kind, interesting, good man. I will miss him.
