STEWARD, Marvin D. - Of Flint, age 86, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Steward was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on August 14, 1924, the son of Delbert and Louise (Schlegel) Steward. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Molly Renick on April 30, 1949 in Flint and she preceded him in death in 1992. Mr. Steward was employed by the City of Flint for 29 years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed camping, fishing and playing cards with family and friends. Surviving are four children, Marvin Thomas, James, Joseph and Nanette; two granddaughters, Katerina (Darren) Lisee and Lezlie (Randy) Schwartz; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
