Beloved husband of the late Beverly June Yavitz. Dear father of Edward (Karen Farnsworth) Yavitz, Terri (Michele Huff) Tobey and Randy (Maria) Yavitz. Cherished grandfather of Adam Yavitz and Noah (Hyeminh Choi) Yavitz and Laurel Benoit and Heather (Curt) Fritts. Loving great-grandfather of Theodore and Eleanor Choi-Yavitz, Lily and Hurley Benoit, and Harper and Coen Fritts. Beloved brother of the late Jordan Yavitz and the late Audrey Yavitz. Dear son of the late Al and Lillian Yavitz. Our cherished uncle and friend.
Marvyn lived his entire life in St. Louis, was a well-respected insurance agent, and friend to many of his clients. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a devout husband of 67 years to Beverly, with whom he enjoyed traveling the world. He was an avid golfer, playing into his 103rd year, talented pianist and photographer. He also became a gifted “Fix It” man, which he learned on the job during WWII while working as an airline mechanic for the US Army Air Transport Command. Marvyn was generous, kind and wise and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Private family services were held. Contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum - 36 Millstone Campus Dr, St. Louis, MO 63146, Jewish Federation - 12 Millstone Campus Dr, St. Louis, MO 63146, or to the charity of your choice.
