Mary Ann Arco, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 15, 2023, at the age of 74.


 


Mary Ann was born on December 13, 1948, in Philadelphia.  She grew up in Suffern, NY, where she eventually married Guy Arco.  They raised their children in Rockland County, NY, before they moved to Brick, NJ, in 2021 to be closer to their sons.  They had recently celebrated their 43rd anniversary in March 2022 prior to Guy’s passing.


 


Mary Ann was known for her unwavering and unconditional love of her two sons and her husband, and as a doting aunt.  She was the protector of her family and was known for her sense of humor, intellect, quick wit, and passion for waterskiing.


 


Mary Ann was preceded in death by her older siblings Patrick, Lillian, and Anthony.  She is survived by her loving sons, Christopher and Matthew, Matthew’s partner Michael Karam, and her brothers Edward and Joseph Hearn.  Mary Ann leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, including Howard Reid Jr. and his brothers Bill and Bob, and Theresa, Rita, Christian, and Christopher Hearn.


 


Services are under the direction of Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, Brick, NJ.  Visitation will be held on May 19, 2023, at Church of the Visitation, 730 Lynwood Ave. Brick, NJ 08723, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.  The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mary Ann's name to Jersey Shore Animal Center, Brick, NJ: www.jerseyshoreanimalcenter.org
