MAYVILLE- Mary Fisher Anzalone, 81, of Mayville, passed away in her home on Thursday, July 3, 2025, with family at her side, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 11, 1944, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Cornelius H and Margaret Baker Fisher.


     She was a 1962 graduate of Chautauqua Central School and had earned a degree in Elementary Education from Fredonia State University. Mary was an elementary school teacher at Chautauqua Central School. She was a member of the St Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville. She was also a long-time swim coach for Chautauqua Central School.


      Mary enjoyed sewing, gardening, swimming, and reading. Her faith and her family were most important to her. 


     She is survived by her six children, Thomas M (Linda) Anzalone of Mayville, NY, Christopher Anzalone of Mayville, NY, Maria (Carl) Smith of Mt Pleasant, SC, Theresa (Dan) Akin of Mayville, NY, Michael (Heather) Anzalone of Mayville, NY, and Kelly (Amanda) Anzalone of Steamboat Springs, CO, an adopted son, Genilson Brandao of Washington, DC, eleven grandchildren, Jared, Cailin, Cole, Kyrie, Alison, Elizabeth, Bridgette, Andrew, Charlotte, Holly, Zachary, Emmet and Jayda, and one brother, Albert Fisher, of Mayville, NY.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L Anzalone, whom she married June 29, 1963, and one sister, Carol Milton.


     A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the St Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville. FR Romulo Montero will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Chautauqua Cemetery. A gathering will be held from noon to 2 PM in the reception hall at St Mary of Lourdes following the service.
