Groton - Mary Ann Siconolfi Arthur, age 81, of Groton, passed away peacefully at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital on November 19th at 7:30 p.m. surrounded by her children.

She was born in Northampton, Mass., on March 24, 1926 the daughter of Sabato and Grace Siconolfi of Salerno, Italy.

She graduated from Northampton High School and Springfield Secretarial School. She worked as a personal assistant to Jack August whose company is now known as Snow's Clam Chowder. She also worked for H & R Block for many tax seasons.

Along with her husband, she founded the Leffooters (correct spelling) Square Dance Club in Kingston, N.Y., which is now one of the largest clubs in New York State. She was an avid opera buff and attended many opera productions at the Met as well as locally.

She was predeceased six weeks ago by her husband of 60 years, Donald C. Arthur.

She is survived by her two children, Donald C. Arthur Jr., MD of McLean, Va., and Karen Lowther of Pawcatuck; a sister, Anna Mitus, of Belchertown, Mass., and a brother, Vincenzo "Jim" Siconolfi of Galion, Ohio. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Rose Francisco, Robin Arthur and Dawn Arthur as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services are private with a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
