Mary M. Austin

Mary has been on my mind as September 1 arrives. I so miss our conversational texts back & forth from one part of the country to the other. We parted physical company back in the 80´s but eventually stayed in touch with me hoping she & Suzanne would make the visit to San Francisco. Although there was quite the distance between us, it never felt it. Mary was an amazing beautiful person & am grateful to have had her in my life. RIP

I guess people don't write much on these sites, since I know how much Mary is/was beloved. I am writing into the void as the anniversary of Mary's loss approaches. For me, her baby sister, it's been tough to navigate the world without her in it. Mary was my ally and my bulwark, the person I always turned to when I needed support, the one I wanted to share my achievements with. She is irreplaceable. She is deeply missed. I will carry her living memory within me until my last day. Ellen...

I am sorry to learn of her passing. I always admired Mary´s athleticism and her "goodness." She never had an unkind word for anyone. I will be thinking about the Austin family in my prayers. Anne Prior Stringer
