Mary C. (Fresco) Balzano, age 77, of Brick, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick surrounded by her family. Born in Newark, she was raised in East Orange and lived 45 years in Old Bridge prior to moving to Greenbriar in Brick 12 years ago. She established and managed a number of retail businesses prior to her retirement. Mary was a Democratic County Committee Woman in Old Bridge Ward 5; a founding member and past President of the Old Bridge Italian American Women's Association; and a parishioner of St. Martha's RC Church in Point Pleasant.

Mary was predeceased by her son Robert in 2004 and her brother Andrew Natale Fresco. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank Balzano; her son Frank J. Balzano and his wife Mary of Old Bridge; two daughters, Angelina Culver of Sea Girt and Frances Mary Florentine and her husband Joseph of Spring Lake; her daughter-in-law Yvette Balzano of Point Pleasant; two brothers Saverio Fresco of Manchester and Donato Fresco of Edison; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Visiting hours are Sunday, May 1st, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Monday, May 2nd, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday at 11 am at St. Martha's RC Church, Pt. Pleasant, followed by entombment at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Wall Twsp..
