Mary VanDen Bergh

Mary was one of the most amazing people I have known. She was a good friend, dating back to the 1990s, who reached out to me as a new faculty member, when she was working in the Alma College library and the many times we would be together with other mainly international types at the home of Ute Stargardt and Gilles Labrie. She had strong opinions but always expressed them with kindness, a wonderful, gentle soul. Her facility in languages was astonishing; we would always enjoy laughing...

I wish I had the opportunity to meet Mary, She accomplished so much. My family came from Belgium who also survived the war. RIP Mary
