so sorry for your loss. I met Katherine through John Gonzalez and we had gotten together on a few brief occasions. she was an impressive lady and vey sweet. Rest in God's hands Katherine and I hope family and friends find the Lord's peace through this time.

On January 22, 2014 Katherine and I met on the telephone. During our 45 minute conversation, I was taken by the brave, matured, clear woman who spoke of herself and of her needs with great simplicity and truth. Her open heart and love of life were so evident. Though we spoke only twice, I shall always remember her, grateful to have had time with her spirit.

My sincere condolences to Katherine's friends and family. Katherine sat on the board of directors of the nonprofit I led in San Francisco for several years. I recruited her to join the board as she had been such a longstanding advocate for the improvement of the community where she lived. She was to me an amazing person and shined such a bright light in our community. I feel blessed to have known and worked with Katherine.

Brian, we were all saddened by Katherine's passing. She came over many times to play the reed organs we have here. Mary Kay was was my piano teacher and she played the organ at my wedding in 1978. She taught piano to a lot of the Holy Rosary kids. While waiting for my lesson I could look through all her photos. She was very artistic. Sounds like her later life was full of fun and adventure - good for you Mary Kay!
