Not sure what to say?

Mary was the "soul of the neighborhood". All the neighbors in the street would keep a spare key to their house with Mary - just in case: if your kid looses their key at school and nobody is home to open the door, or if you are going on vacation and there would be an urgent need for someone to enter your house. Mary was unequivocally trusted and loved by all of us. Her sense of humor was sparkling and amazing, her love of life and people around her was contagious. We still miss Mary - and...

Living next door to Dick and Mary Berry was like having my grandparents next door. I remember leaving May baskets, playing hide and seek in their yard, Mary helping me make my wedding gown and being part of my girls life. Maine will not be the same without her. Love and fanstatic memories of a one of a kind woman to her family: Diane, Mitch and Annie and theirs.

My husband, Garry, and I were tenants of Mary's in 1996 and then her neighbors for two years. She was a dear, dear friend to us, and we always enjoyed visiting her in her kitchen and exchanging small gifts. We'll miss her wonderful spirit and pixie-ish sense of humor. She's certainly someone to emulate. A very special person.

It is hard to imagine a world without Mary in it. 97 years was not enough to contain her huge and vibrant spirit, which is why her memory will live so long in those of us who adored her so.

We enjoyed Mary as a spirited and friendly neighbor. She used to call us asking the children to come over and get some treats. The children had a particular affection for her. We will all miss her. Our sincere condolences to her family.

To Mary's Family,
Mrs. Berry was a great lady. As a child I spent many hours with her neighbors the Fields. She was forever sending treats over to us. Mrs. Berry also created many outfits for me and my 3 sisters. I remember her taking our measurements over and over as the years went by. She inspired me to learn to sew. She will be missed. My condolences.

We always adored Mary's energy, wit, optimism and a wonderful sense of humor. She has turned from a great neighbor to a close friend over the years. We will always cherish bright memories about Mary.

Our sincere condolences to Dianne and family.

Sincerely,

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

We are sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I was just thinking of her recently, remembering how she was always there with her trusty needle and thread to get us out of whatever fashion dilemma we were in. She was really good at what she did and always did it with a smile. We are thankful to have known her.
Sincerely,
Linda & Dennis Johnson
